Types of Members

A. Promoter Member

1. A member who is signatory to the Memorandum of Association

B. Primary or Ordinary Member

  • 1. Professionals – lawyers, doctors, engineers, CA, etc. in active practice
  • 2. Entrepreneurs and businessmen – Annual turnover of Rs. Ten Lakhs and above
  • 3. Private sector – employees of private companies, corporations, etc. holding positions equivalent to government employees of the rank of Class II Gazetted Officers and above. If someone is working for a private entity as a contractor for a government agency, even if their office is in a government agency building, they are not considered Government, but Private Sector
  • 4.Each Primary Member will pay a subscription of Rs. 5,000.00 per annum
  • 5.Any person who has permanently retired, who if in active service or practice would have fulfilled the criteria for primary membership, will pay a subscription of Rs. 1,000.00 per annum
  • 6.Each Primary Life Member, who has been an active primary member for the preceding fifteen years, and whose membership of the BCCI had not been suspended for any reason, will pay a subscription amount equal to Ten times the prevalent annual subscription for a Primary or Ordinary Member or any such rate as standardized by the Managing Committee to become a life member. Tenure for membership is for the remaining life of the member

C. Corporate Member

  • 1. Must be a body registered under the ‘Companies Act’
  • 2. Is entitled to nominate one representative on the Chamber
  • 3. Shall pay a subscription of Rs.25,000.00 in respect of the representative it desires to nominate on the Chamber.







D. Institutional member

  • 1. Must be a body registered with the Charity Commissioner
  • 2. Is entitled to nominate one representative on the Chamber
  • 3. Shall pay a subscription of Rs.5,000.00 in respect of the representative it desires to nominate on the Chamber, for each representative







E. Honorary member

  • 1. The Managing Committee shall have the power to elect as Honorary Members of the Chamber any person, who, in its opinion, shall merit such election. Honorary Members shall enjoy all the privileges of membership, except that such persons shall not be entitled to vote nor be required to pay any subscription. This will run for one year unless otherwise stated

F. Patron member

  • 1. Official chairs such as the Governor of the State or the President of India may be made the Patron Members, after due process of law. Patron Members shall enjoy all the privileges of membership, except that such persons shall not be entitled to vote nor be required to pay any subscription. This will run for one year unless otherwise stated

G. Associate Members

  • 1. Government sector employees of the rank of Class II Gazetted Officers and above
  • 2. Shall pay a subscription of Rs. 5,000.00 per annum
  • One time registration charges Rs.1000 only.
